Marayoor is renowned for its cool climate, untouched landscapes, vast sugarcane fields, and the famous GI-tagged Marayoor jaggery (Sharkara Aala). The region is home to rare natural sandalwood forests, where visitors may even spot wildlife such as deer and occasionally leopards (Pulliman) along the forest routes. Marayoor also holds great historical significance with its ancient Iron Age dolmens (Muniyaras). Nearby attractions include the scenic Thoovanam Waterfalls, Aalampatti trekking trails, dense bamboo forests, the Pambar River, and the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, where wild animals like elephants, deer, peacocks, and monkeys can often be seen while traveling through the sanctuary roads.
